Our Ride Programs
Weekend Rides - RMCC offers rides on Saturdays and Sundays year round, ranging from 30 miles and peaking at the century level. Many have a long and short option, so you can train for endurance, or do recreational riding or speed work. We also have shorter weeknight rides, particularly in the summer.
Wide-Ranging Start Locations - Rides start from various locations along the Front Range from the Loveland/Ft. Collins area down to Castle Rock / Colorado Springs, plus some mountain venues.
Training and Variety - We run a wide variety of weekly rides, from epic climbing to easier plains rides which let you vary your workout and maximize training effect. Our zero-to-hero rides are designed to offer a distance progression that builds condition for peak events such as centuries, brevets and our Challenge Series.
We also have weekday rides in season.
The Challenge Series is a series of timed RMCC events that are for riders who are interested in testing their limits against the clock, featuring lots of climbing and ranging from 80 to over 200 miles in distance. These rides are grouped into 2 classes of events:
· Colorado Triple Crown Series - the most difficult events of the RMCC Challenge Series--are a series of timed, double century events designed to push cyclists to the limits of their endurance.
· RMCC Challenge Series Short Course events - ranging from 50 to 100 miles in length, are for those riders who are looking for a challenging day on the bike with lots of climbing!
Randonneuring - The RMCC sponsors nationally-sanctioned randonneuring events - brevets, populaires, and grand randonnées - in a format dating back to the late 19th century in France and Italy, and which call upon persistence, endurance ... and a good spirit.
From a Bit of Distance to a Lot! - Randonneuring distances range from 100km for the starter events, to 200km to 600km for the main challenges, to 1200km for events like the Last Chance and Colorado High Country grand randonnées.
As a randonneur, you join a community with kindred events and riders across the nation and the globe, sanctioned by Randonneurs USA, Randonneurs Mondiaux, and the Audax Club Parisien.
